A links-style front nine coupled with a parkland-setting back nine makes
for a great day of golf. Large undulating greens could leave you scratching
your head if you're not careful. And there's water. Well placed off the
tee, cutting across a fairway in a strategic spot, or nestled up against
the side of a green: you will have to carve your shot to avoid reaching
for your ball retriever in one of the 16 small lakes on the course. Set
in rolling hills, the course has the ever-present Mount Prevost hovering
over the scene like a large quiet Buddha. The setting of the Cowichan Valley
provides wonderful eye-catching vistas on every hole.
The lush large greens are the strong suit of this fine club. Putt well
here and you can putt well just about anywhere. The other strong element
of the course is the fine rural setting. Just minutes out of Duncan, you
get the feel of playing in a secluded valley that's all your own. A large
full-length practice facility will allow you to sharpen that game. Two
feature events to watch for are the Duncan Meadows Amateur Tournament,
May 14 & 15, the Frank Hui/Ken Evans Pro-Am September 12th and the
Island Farms Mixed Tournament September 17 & 18.
PLEASE NOTE : Duncan Meadows is a 'soft spike' course. The use of metal
spikes is prohibited
The spacious clubhouse is well placed overlooking the course for some
19th hole analysis. Banquet and conference facilities are available for
200 people.
The fully stocked pro shop offers: Callaway, Titleist, Dunlop, Wilson,
Ping and Jazz clubs. Clothing by Storm Tech, Second Skin, Brooks, Antigua,
LPGA and PGA.
