How to Get to Vancouver
Island - from the BC Mainland or Washington State
While in Victoria, you will be able to actually see your destination if
you are headed to Washington State. Juan de Fuca Strait separates our
two countries. The mountains visible to the south of Victoria are the
famed Olympic Mountains. The majesty of these mountains is evident by
the almost year round snow cover, even in the warmest part of summer.
The one visual landmark that stands out in Washington is Mount Baker.
This active volcano, north of Seattle is an overpowering sight from the

Choices of reaching Washington State via land travel: B.C. Ferries - about an hour
and a half crossing to Vancouver, then on to Seattle Grayline of Seattle -
offers bus transportation between Victoria and stops along the way to
Seattle
A Word of Advice:If you're traveling in a vehicle
and have time on your hands, consider making the trip from Victoria to
Port Angeles, Washington and make the drive along the gorgeous Olympic
Peninsula to Seattle. There are great golf courses and many fine places
to visit and stay. Don't be in too big a hurry to get to Seattle if time
allows.
